For example, following the federal government ecoENERGY program guidelines, to qualify for the rebates, the homeowner simply follows these steps:
- Have their house tested by a certified advisor before any work is completed.
- The homeowner will receive a report that lists the improvements that could be made to the house, their approximate costs, their potential energy savings and the amount of rebate possible.
- The homeowner has until March 31st 2011 in which to do the improvements (which improvements are done is entirely up to the homeowner).
- The house must be re-inspected (2nd audit).
- A rebate cheque for eligible improvements is sent from the Govt. of Ontario to the homeowner.
It’s as simple as that. |
