Provincial Audit Programs
The Province of Ontario provides rebates to homeowners who improve the energy efficiency of their homes for a maximum of $5,000 in total rebates. As a licensed organization, Green Home Inspections takes care of all the necessary paperwork.

For example, following the federal government ecoENERGY program guidelines, to qualify for the rebates, the homeowner simply follows these steps:

  1. Have their house tested by a certified advisor before any work is completed.
  2. The homeowner will receive a report that lists the improvements that could be made to the house, their approximate costs, their potential energy savings and the amount of rebate possible.
  3. The homeowner has until March 31st 2011 in which to do the improvements (which improvements are done is entirely up to the homeowner).
  4. The house must be re-inspected (2nd audit).
  5. A rebate cheque for eligible improvements is sent from the Govt. of Ontario to the homeowner.

It’s as simple as that.

Green Home Inspections includes both the standard energy audit and the blower door draft detection test in its government-certified audits. Infrared thermography is available in winter for an extra $50.
