EcoEnergy Program
The Federal government has renewed the ecoENERGY audit program until March 31st 2012. This program is designed to provide rebates to homeowners who improve the energy efficiency of their homes for a maximum of $5,000. As a licensed organization, Green Home Inspections is able to offer this service.

To qualify for these rebates, the homeowner must simply follow these steps:

  1. Obtain a registration number from Natural Resources Canada by filling out the form at www.oee.nrcan.gc.ca/registration , or by calling 1-877-953-5454
  2. Have your house tested by a certified advisor before any work is completed.
  3. The homeowner will receive a report that lists the improvements that could be made to the house, their approximate costs, their potential energy savings and the amount of rebate possible.
  4. The homeowner has until March 31st 2012 in which to do the improvements (which improvements are done is entirely up to the homeowner).
  5. The house must be re-inspected (2nd audit).
  6. A rebate cheque for eligible improvements is sent from NRCan to the homeowner.

It’s as simple as that.

Green Home Inspections includes both the energy audit and the blower door draft detection test in its government-certified audits. Infrared thermography is available in winter for an extra $100
