To qualify for these rebates, the homeowner must simply follow these steps:
- Obtain a registration number from Natural Resources Canada by filling out the form at www.oee.nrcan.gc.ca/registration , or by calling 1-877-953-5454
- Have your house tested by a certified advisor before any work is completed.
- The homeowner will receive a report that lists the improvements that could be made to the house, their approximate costs, their potential energy savings and the amount of rebate possible.
- The homeowner has until March 31st 2012 in which to do the improvements (which improvements are done is entirely up to the homeowner).
- The house must be re-inspected (2nd audit).
- A rebate cheque for eligible improvements is sent from NRCan to the homeowner.
