Energy Audits
Energy audits from Green Home Inspections provide unbiased information to homeowners on ways to improve indoor air quality, eliminate heating and cooling problems, increase comfort and lower energy costs. During an energy audit, the Green Home Inspections consultant assesses energy use and opportunities for reduction. Computer modeling is used to evaluate the effectiveness of each potential upgrade.

The energy audit investigates and evaluates

• heating, cooling systems, fireplaces
• air distribution
• ventilation and moisture
• insulation (walls, floors and ceilings)
• draft detection
• domestic hot water usage

 

At the conclusion of the assessment, the homeowner is mailed a comprehensive report listing various recommendations, methods and materials that should be used, their potential cost and percentage savings.
